Tourist-Information Arnstadt, Arnstadt

Actually two stars. Only because the older gentleman, the city guide, was very nice and had informed us well about the few points of contact. Under a city tour we imagined something completely different. We just went straight to the Bach statue, from there to the pharmacy, to the Bach church and then to the next fountain. Then straight to the castle. Unfortunately that was all......

Recommendation for dealing with the Wachsenburg, which can almost be called one of the landmarks of Arnstadt. One shouldn't really mention the Wachsenburg from the tourist information and if you expressly point out that just to enter the courtyard and even the restaurant / hotel you have to pay an entrance fee of five euros per person, nothing will be charged, not even when eating or hotel visit. So here it is doubled, such rip-offs should not be accepted under any circumstances, regardless of who! The Wachsenburg has actually been a hiking destination since my childhood, but those days are over, you can no longer recommend it, you have to be ashamed! If you want to go to the museum, it's quite expensive, because there isn't much to see. But pay for air and a view? I feel like I've been transported back to centuries past, when counts and nobles were the guests here. Access, but not for everyone!
