Jerusalem of Stained Glass
Many half-timbered houses from the 16th century remain in wonderful condition in the old town of Troyes. This city has been in existence since the Roman era, as Augustobona Tricassium, and it stood at the hub of numerous highways, primarily the Via Agrippa. You can easily walk the downtown area in about half an hour. There are many old churches throughout the city. Wandering down the stone cobbled streets can make you feel like you've gone back in time. Besides this, the city has some well-established parks and squares. The Seine River runs through the city, dividing the downtown area roughly in two, and in nice weather, you can sit beside it and contemplate the old town. Use our France day trip planning website to arrange your visit to Troyes and any other destinations in France that take your fancy.
