Jardin du Mesnil, Monterolier

Very well laid out gardens with thoughtful planning. Beautiful selection of maples with some very established specimens. The plant choice ensures there is interest all year round. Good amount of plant labels although more is always better.

I've visited this garden in all seasons and there is always something good to see. It is especially good when all the hydrangeas are in flower in summer. Unusually for a French garden, there is a tea room, La Hulotte, where you can have a light lunch or tea with homemade cakes. There are also homemade jams for sale.
