  • We enjoyed spending a couple of hours here, and would recommend it to anyone staying in the region. It does cost money, but you get a wine tasting, a well-thought-out exhibit on how their wine is...

  • Good place to visit on a rainy day, the restaurant is a hidden gem! Broad menu, really helpful staff and an excellent standard of food.

  • Well worth a visit! Stunning fairy tale of a chateau with lovely vinyard to explore. Entry allows you access to a very informative and interesting self-guided tour through the history of wine making and the life of a vineyard. You can then visit the fascinating chateau. Here the story of the family who owned the chateau at the time of the French Revolution is revealed. You walk through 3 rooms, which at first may look sparse, but they actually represent 3 different pivotal events in the lives of the family. There are sound tracks playing in each room where the different characters are portrayed discussing and debating their views around the challenges facing the monarchy and the possible changes that any new republic may bring. Most is in French; if your French is rusty, with a bit of patience and with the help of Google translate, the information on the walls explains it well. After the chateau you can explore the grounds and have lunch in the reasonably priced cafe. You can then finish your visit with a wine tasting session and you even get to take your glass home with you. A good few hours out but best early in the morning if it’s going to be hot as not much shade. Would recommend.
  • I agree with everything Terry McDonald says plus, if you are hungry, get the picnic lunch from the restaurant. You get baguette, pate, tomatoes, fruit, water, cold meats, all in a tote bag to keep. Then sit on the picnic tables under umbrellas overlooking the valley below. Spectacular!
