Create an itinerary including Musée de la Libération
A fascinating military museum, Musée de la Libération is dedicated to the Ordre de la Libération, France's second national order after the Légion d'honneur, which was created in 1940 by General Charles de Gaulle, leader of the Free French Forces. At this site, you can enjoy three galleries and six rooms of displays documenting the history of the Free French Forces, de Gaulle's manuscripts, resistance activities, and the concentration camps.

You might find the precious artifacts displayed especially interesting. Showcases contain more than 4,000 objects such as uniforms, weapons, clandestine press and leaflets, transmitters, flags taken to the enemy on the battlefields of Africa and Europe, the first naval flags of Free France, and relics from the camps. The hall of honor is dedicated to General de Gaulle. • Entrance was free If you have backpack, before entrance there are lockers where you can leave it. Exhibition tells about living during occupation in WW2. Most signs in French, English and German There is also available guide in all these languages The office also has few brochures with local attractions of Normandy Panoramic point with amazing view I surely recommend to visit this museum
  • Little or no information about the actual fortress and no access to the cannon batteries below (separate tour). That being said, the museum provides interesting facts about the area during the WW2. Some English information lacking here and there, but all in all good. Nice walk up and a great view of the city. Used around 45 minutes there.
