  • Well done art museum. None of the world famous painters but quite interesting. Old scenes of Carcassonne, even the modern art was well done even though I usually hate modern. Free!!!

  • While walking from the tourist office in Carcassonne to the medieval fortress, we spotted the lovely Musée des Beaux-Arts de Carcassonne in the Place Gambetta. Founded in 1856 in the old court house.....  more

  • Besides the permanent collection, there is currently an exhibition of contemporary art well worth a look. Don't be afraid to push the door open, upstairs.
  • Some interesting pictures but not many. However, it is free! But they had very strange lighting that made some pictures almost impossible to see because the lights reflected off the painting.
