Place de la Bourse, Bordeaux

Must see · World heritage site · Historic Walking Area · Landmark
The reflection of the palace on the grounds of Place de la Bourse creates the largest water mirror effect in the world. This is a public square, but the palace called Palais de la Bourse on the grounds showcases French classical architecture and the art of the 18th century. On either side of the central pavilion, you'll see Hôtel des Fermes and Hôtel de la Bourse. The famous "Three Graces Fountain,” representing Aglaia, Euphrosyne, and Thalia, the daughters of Zeus, stands at the center of the square. • Their is nothing special about this fountain. The view is quite nice. In front lays the water mirror. This is a fun thing to do with kids.  more »

  • This one stupendously magnificent Square. One I read about and always wanted to visit and here I was soaking up the majestic ambience of this historic square. It has the old city behind it whilst fronting the Garonne River giving it an unforgettable experience. It's a short stroll from the heart of the old city or from the Gate of Burgundy. You can really feel the magnanimous history of this place overlooking the river with a spectacular view of Pont de Pierre. Absolutely a must visit if you're visiting Bordeaux. Great for families and especially in the evening when the promenade comes alive with brilliant lighting. A well deserved UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • It calls iconic place, it really is! Wonderful architecture reflecting in mirror pool, amazing. Bordeaux is called "little Paris" and it is!
