Marvel at St. John's vision of The Apocalypse at The Heavenly Cathedral, a Coptic cathedral perched on a hilltop. Built in 2010, the tall twin rectangular towers of the cathedral dominate the skyline with elegant architecture. The church features elaborately painted ceiling and walls, lavishly illustrated with stories from the Bible and the lives of the saints. It took a team of 19 people two years to paint these frescoes and murals. The site also showcases tall stained-glass windows. • Simply thr most beautiful church I have ever been to in my entire life. Gift shop is also extremely reasonably priced and has loads of cool stuff!
  • The Heavenly Cathedral is Sharm’s newest and biggest Coptic church. Voted one of the world’s 10 most beautiful churches in 2010, when it was finished, it features impressive frescos and religious murals of Biblical scenes such as The Creation and The Exodus. Built in only two years, the cathedral is located in the Hay el Noor district, not far from the twin minarets of El Mustafa mosque. Prepare to be blown away by St John’s vision of The Apocalypse, which can be seen staring ominously down from the ceiling.
