  • My wife and I visited this historical delight and had the opportunity to take in the history and the culture. A short trip from downtown provides this escape.

  • Worthwhile even for non-Christians. The building itself is already worth the 100 EGP entry fee, and the museum has some nice pieces. I found the art combining Coptic, Egyptian and Greek in one especially fascinating. Easily combined with the (free) Hanging Church next door, and quickly accessible through metro line 1. Highly recommended!
  • Lovely place to visit. A huge variety of Coptic artefacts from different time periods. Unfortunately, the museum was not air conditioned however you could feel that it is actually a little bit colder than outside. Most things have descriptions in English and French alongside Arabic. Be sure to arrive there early as its working hours are quite short. The museum has two floors and its beautifully carved in stone and wood.
