Step behind the Iron Curtain with a visit to Museum of Communism, dedicated to the story of ordinary Czechs struggling for democracy in the decades following World War II. Established in 2001 by businessman Glenn Spicker, the museum is located in an 18th-century palace near the center of the city. Spicker gathered many of the displayed artifacts, which include photographs and military objects, at flea markets and junk shops in and around Prague. The museum's three galleries offer visitors a fully immersive experience, complete with film screenings and educational lectures. Start your exploration at the museum's reconstructed classroom, offering insight into a day in the life of a Communist-era schoolchild. • This was an interesting museum, but relatively small, and we didn't;t feel it was worth the price of admission.

  • Loads of information. Very informative on what Czech people went through. The museum is located near the Palladium in the center of Prague.

  • The museum tells u a visual story of what communism and the soviet influence did to Czechia and Eastern Europe in general. I loved how detailed it described historical events but also the day-to-day life in the communist Czechia. Visit and allocate enough time to reflect.
  • Outstanding museum. So much history. Really informative exhibits with a lot to read and absorb. I think they did a wonderful job explaining the pain and suffering the Czech people have gone through prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Velvet Revolution. Well done!!! Leave 2-3 hours to really get the most out of this museum. A lot to read and well worth the time if you love history.
