Founded on a donation from Fernando Botero, one of Colombia's celebrated artists, , Museo Botero del Banco de la Republica has quickly grown into a must-see attraction in Bogota since its inauguration in 2000. The small but captivating museum features 123 paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Botero himself, as well as 85 pieces by other artists. This museum is a must. If you know nothing about Botero or his art , you will still enjoy it as his art is self-explanatory. There were also some other great artworks by Picasso and Miro.

This museum is a must see when visiting Bogota. Located in the historic area of La Candelaria. It was great to see so many pieces of Botero’s work up close. Other great works (Picasso, Monet, Matisse, Degas...) are present as well. The interior garden courtyard with its fountain is very peaceful and is a nice backdrop for photos.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bogotá, I am not a fan of art museums in general but Botero's style is interesting and there are pieces from other famous painters too. Don't get too close to the paintings or you will set off the alarm! Also it's free :)
