The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses boasts a collection of over 8,000 carved soldiers and horses. The figures in this World Heritage Site were buried in the 3rd century BCE with the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang, to protect him in the afterlife. The thousands of life-size soldiers stand at attention as an imperial army would in real life. Look for remains of the paint that originally lacquered each statue. Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an China. Worth seeing if you ever get the chance. This place is amazing. There are so many things to see here and the story behind this site is incredible. I would highly recommend visiting here to any tourist.

Took the sleeper train from Shanghai to Xian. Really odd to have different sleepers below me on the 12 +hour journey. Comfortable and inexpensive. No English spoken at Xian. I photographed all the places I wanted to see. Station, left luggage etc. if in doubt in China ask for Hilton hotel. Even if there isn’t one, the driver will go to the city centre. Got to the warrior site. So big. So stunning. I went around five o clock. No queues. Could easily see around the pits. It was an amazing experience. Taxis will always try and rip you off. I got a lift back to the station from some Chinese looking hippies. Mad to get in their car but…..
