Retrace Macau's Christian heritage at Ruins of St. Paul's, one of the region's landmark attractions. Built by the Portuguese in the 17th century, the church was originally one of the largest Christian shrines in Asia. A 19th-century fire destroyed much of the original complex, but the ornate southern facade still stands as a reminder of the building's former grandeur. A steel stairway provides visitors with access to the top, while the onsite museum houses artifacts providing insight into the history and art of Christian faith in the Far East. Work out when and for how long to visit Ruins of St. Paul's and other Macau attractions using our handy Macau sightseeing planning tool.

  • This is a very popular site and with the long flight of steps a place where people can linger and chill out. There are plenty of routes in and out and a few restaurants and cafes, nearby.

  • The landmark of Macau, went during a very busy day but it was still beautiful. Theres also a small temple next to it. Its also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its unique in China because the old town mixes Chinese and Portuguese architectural styles.
  • Spectacular sight and a scenic ruins in Macao! Best time to come early in the morning and late afternoon to chase sunset and night lights! Common tourist attraction to many around the globe. Its free and many establishments around we can choose by after.
