Relax at Smith's Barcadere. Slightly off the beaten path, uncrowded, and with plenty of shade, the cove's calm blue waters framed by rocks offer the perfect spot for a swim. Remember to bring along your snorkeling gear, as there is also plenty to see underneath the surface. An abundance of trees near the coast offer refuge from the sun, so set up your picnic gear under the shade. Amenities include a shower and bathroom with fresh water, but you won't find any food vendors near the cove. For travelers who use our international travel planner, George Town holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Smith's Barcadere and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

Beautiful beach. Great for snorkeling. Should be a strong swimmer. Its pretty deep. There is a small area of shallow water.

Get your feet to the sands of this incredible little beach! This beautiful place is stunning. In my opinion the most gorgeous spot on the island. The natural rock formations and seaside ledges of this wonderful nook are absolutely breathtaking. The water here is crystal clear. A true jewel emanating brilliant shades of blue.

Tourists and cruise passengers are easy to find here. With that said, there is a reason why. It is a beautiful spot. You have 2 viable water entrances flanking each other. Water funnels through here with some good waves which means you probably don't want to get to close to the rocks unless you are a strong swimmer. You can stand out there all day and enjoy the water. The drawback is you will not be the only one. You will probably have to work around a group of tourist hanging out in the water with their beer. I wouldn't plan on spending all day here. There are quieter spots. With that said, I do recommend spending some time. Aside from the water, which is clear and blue, there is a good rocky cliff area to walk through (with shoes) and pretty views. Great shade and some solid choices for laying out a towel or chair. Nice public restrooms as well as good Parking.
