  • Hitting the trailhead yesterday was amazing, once you hit the 3km marker you will start encountering isolated patches of snow. This becomes a snow trail from around 4km. Snow is densely packed all...

  • Black Tusk is a beautiful hike. Bring lots of food and water. If you have a filter several fresh streams to refill. Hike is very long even if you’re moving at a fast pace. Took me about 4 hours going up from parking lot and 3 hours coming down, moving at a pretty average pace with no breaks in between. Relatively very easy until you get to the last couple km’s. When you get to the top and have the option to summit via the chimney, only do it if you’re an experienced climber! Seen way too many people think they can do it cause everyone else does, but just know one wrong move and you’re dead. Rock is extremely loose and you’re free climbing vertical at certain points. To be honest after doing it myself the views are the same from bottom of the chimney. Super windy and weather can change. Be prepared for worse case scenario. Difficulty level is extreme for the summit, just to get to the top is normally difficult
  • One of the best hike, we did it in 8 hours back to the parking. During the hike we met two ladies they did tusk nd ridge in less than 7 hours which is quite impressive. Be careful when you climb chimney, make sure keep distance between others because rocks often fall nd it could hit you.
