Create an itinerary including Art Gallery of Ontario
Admire the impressive range of over 80,000 artworks at Art Gallery of Ontario, one of the largest venues of its kind in North America. With a collection spanning the period between the 1st century CE and the present day, this architectural landmark (with a facade by noted architect Frank Gehry) houses First Nation carvings, Henry Moore sculptures, rare Quebecois religious items, and much more. Other highlights include permanent exhibits of European paintings by Tintoretto, Rubens, Rembrandt, Goya, Picasso, Rodin, Monet, Degas, Cezanne, and many other Baroque and Renaissance masters. It's difficult to see everything in a single day, but if you're on a tight schedule, you can get a good feel for the gallery by taking a short mini tour. • A huge 5 level of gallery with amazing arts, models, painting and sculpture by different artists. Every room has a story to tell and one can easily spend an hour just in one section. Make sure to eat well and have ample time with you to visit the gallery. Also, they have a stand where you can keep your coat and bag otherwise if you are carrying a backpack, you have to carry it either on the front or the side but not in the back. I would recommend to get the tickets online or if you are a member of Toronto Public Library you can avail free passes every Saturday. Overall, a lovely experience.
  • Great gallery. Very pleased at the wide selection of art in the collection, including Canadian art, Indigenous art, and foreign art. The temporary exhibits are also well done. It’s also always free for people under 25, which is a great way to get young people involved in the arts! Tickets should be purchased online in advance even if you are under 25, as you may need to wait for an email confirmation.
