Insectarium de Montreal displays both live and dead insect collections from all around the world, from giant stick insects and furry spiders to monarch butterflies and jewel-like beetles. The largest insect museum in North America (which from a bird's perspective looks like a stylized insect), is home to nearly 250,000 specimens of living and naturalized insects. Observe busy ants picking leaves and maintaining the nest on an anthill. Learn more about arthropods, and explore shapes and colors of specimens displayed in cases and vivariums. Wander through a prairie to a pond filled with freshwater wildlife in the discovery zone. Kids will like the fun zone with games on the theme of insect habitats. With our custom trip planner, Montreal attractions like Insectarium de Montreal can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • It is an amazing world of insects. The atmosphere is well designed for the museum. The specimens collection is charming and I have never seen such a beautiful aspect of the insects. What’s more, when you enter the open area where you can be surrounded by the flying butterflies, you can feel the kindness of nature. In a word, it is such a charming place that I would recommend anyone who goes to Montreal to visit.
  • Beautiful space. Visited with a 18 month and a 4 year old, we spent 50 minutes there total. Only negative I would say is it's very small, only 3 different spaces to visit. If you walk fast you can easily be done in 20 minutes.
