Consolation Lakes is a very underrated part of Banff as the lakes rival the beauty of any other lake in Banff. Consolation Lakes is never that busy either and it's located right next to Moraine Lake. The trail is about 6 km round trip if you only go to the first lake. The second lake is quite hard to reach as you would have to climb over boulders for about a km. The elevation is gradual as the hike only has about 122 metres of elevation which is nothing over 3 km and near the first lake you do need to climb some boulders, but is not too technical in any way. Bear spray is also recommended as you do leave the main areas behind. You are practically guaranteed to see Marmots as well. Overall Consolation Lakes is practically heaven for anyone wanting to see a glacier lake in Banff with minimal people and it's not even that hard of a hike to get there, Consolation Lakes is amazing.

Beautiful lake (we only saw one) and hike from moraine lake. Such an underrated Lake...to be honest we enjoyed our time there more than at lake Louise. If you're hiking there it is advised to go with a group (sometimes it even mandatory) and probably best to carry bear spray. We didn't see any bears tho. This is an awesome hike in the fall, cool weather and no mosquitos
