Thimphu Tshechu 2022 It is believed that Gyalsey Tenzin Rabgay (1638 -1696) instituted Thimphu Tshechu in the year 1687. According to elders, Thimphu Tshechu is the first of its kind to be introduced in Bhutan followed by Paro Tshechu; introduced by 4th Desi himself during his reign. This was replicated in different district afterwards. Note: The source of this information is from Dzongkha Gongphel Detshen).
