Leopold Barracks - Leopoldskazerne, Ghent

Very nice, fortified, dark building (at least its exterior) . It is very large, occupying the whole block. I don't know if there is anything interesting inside but it doesn't seem to be one of the popular sights of the city. Anyway, you can see it if you visit the park where mudeum of fine arts is located.

An interesting building you can see just off of the Citadel Park is the Leopold Barracks. This is a castle like structure with battlements, turrets and thick fortifications. It appears like something from a time long past. It is a neat building to see from the outside. However, it doesn't appear from what we could gather that you can visit the inside of the Leopold Barracks for general sightseeing. As such, just have a look-see of the building exterior and its outer appearance if you are in the area visiting Fine Arts Museum (SMK) or the Museum d'Art Modern (SMAK) just a few minutes walk from here in Citadel Park.
